For what it is, it’s a good sturdy guide cokbook is a very well bound and photographed book.

cookbook Although not Korean, I grew up in Seoul. For Christmas I got her cookbook, and I’ve been slowly reading through it ever since. I don’t even OK, I found Maangchi during a random youtube binge and really liked her because she is fun to watch and her recipes look delicious. The names of the dishes are vey literal in this cookbook, since many Korean names just don’t have an easy translation, which makes it funny for people who speak both languages.

A friend who taught English for a year in Seoul recommended Maangchi’s YouTube channel, and she’s a hoot! Honestly, everything I’ve tried has been easy and amazing.

I wanted more and more. Also love the description of the ingredients at the beginning of the book, and the possible substitutes, as Korean ingredients are maangcji always easy to find.

Easy to understand straightforward recipes. Having cookbbook cooked Korean food before, Maangchi’s book was a great introduction to this culture’s food! Every time I make this, I batch-make it for a week of work lunches and then just eat it all on Sunday afternoon.

Oddly lacking in chicken recipes other than the famous KFC, but otherwise fantastic.
