I will definitely find the Regino Sainz version, see if it is comparable to my current fingering that is actually working very well!

If I wasn’t capable of playing the piece, I wouldn’t have posted the thread. You will need a very good left hand! I’m using the Schott publication which is almost devoid of right hand indications.

As you’ll guess from my username I like the piece a lot and would like to have confidence in the fingerings I’ve worked out. I have played the Zapateado a year ago, and am re-learning it as a part of a new repertoire.

Hi Everyone, I have recently started playing Rodrigo’s Zapateado from the Tres Piezas Espanolas after having played a wide variety of other music for almost a year. Hi Louis, I wondered how you got along with solving the many puzzles Zapateado throws up for the right hand.


Jaquin have a bunch of interesting fingerings going already, I’m just interested in what others have to say.

Technically demanding but musically not worth the time. I find this piece a bit of a show pony.
