I always enjoy this author’s writing style. Hints of things disturbing and strange nibble at the edges of his existence, even as dangers wholly natural and earthbound cast their shadows across his path. But not only his dreams are haunted.

Usually I can handle jumping back and forth between different timeframes but for some reason I had a mmoonlit of difficulty with this one. This little nugget of a story was no different and I enjoyed it very much.

This story literally takes place in the house across the street from 77 Shadow St. They are flavorful but not too rich. This gave no explanation for the story even being in the first place.

Taut pacing, a fascinating storyline, thr unflinching descriptions of a life on the run combine into a powerful story about relationships: Koontz draws on many of the tried-and-tested modes of evil: Wished it was longer really and a sequal to it would be good. Nothing was resolved, nothing was explained, nothing was A Tale of Suspense. At the age of 9 Crispin witnesses the brutal murder of his brother. As a former orphan, foster child and scared teen mother, who saw the dark side of so many fake smiles, trying to find my way in this “cruel” world and, so many times, questioning reality or why I even bothered; to now a warm, strong, wise woman, with humility, who made it and has been moderately successful in life and as a mom my greatest achievementI find that Dean’s characters are well fleshed out, ring true and they resonate with me and my own perceptions of life, very well.

The Moonlit Mind is a short tale where part of the action takes place across the street from the action in 77 Shadow street, but other than the geographical location and the fact that the buildings seem to share a presence of evil, the stories are not really related.

Ten hours of blissful solitude and security.
