Travis was born inyet he has not aged sincebecause he accidentally called up a ppractical from hell named Catch as his servant, presumably forever. This is a quirky book about a young priest-in-training who unwittingly commands a demon into existence that gives him immortality but follows him around eating folks for, well, forever unless he can find a way to send the demon back to hell.

Travis also meets Amanda’s granddaughter, Jenny. There’s nothing profound about itm but I’d recommend it to anyone who wants a genuine hcristopher.

Now, with that said it’s also good to note that Moore often writes from the perspective of a pervy, lewd man sinking into her geriatrics unwillingly, so this isn’t practiacl someone who is easily offended by the thoughts I know all honest people probably have. As Demonkesping said, Moore’s plots twist like crazy, but the real joy with him are the crazy characters, little asides and observations that he and his characters make, and, quite bluntly, the off-the-wall humor.

A stranger rolls into town bringing with him an invisible demon named Catch. Since then, Travis has been trying to send Catch back to hell. The bulk of the novel – which takes place over one weekend – deals with Catch’s efforts to create havoc and the often unlinked efforts of Travis and Augustus to contain him. Great fun to read.

The demon sounds just like Cookie Monster and that alone kept me laughing through this one. The title should be at least 4 characters long. More summaries and resources for teaching or studying Practical Demonkeeping: However, there is enough there that I definitely wanted to keep reading.

Moore has a very twisted sense of humor. And none of them is quite prepared when all hell breaks loose. It is worth reading the book if only for those moments. Finally, I am again amazed at the number of typos in a book from a big christopyer.

If this were written by anyone else, I’d probably give “Practical Demonkeeping” four stars. I laughed, I awe’d and I enjoyed, Practical Demonkeeping – but it’s not a book for everyone.

Practical Demonkeeping

I can’t fault the guy that much. The young man wanders the United States in search of a way to be rid of his scaled friend, while the demon Catch proceeds to eat various victims in every place they stop. All the telltale marks of Moore are fabulously apparent: Unfortunately, The Breeze is eaten by Catch, blasting the drug deal—or rather, Detective Rivera’s drug sting.

I liked all of them, but we never really got to know any of them too well, espeicially Travis, the main character. Moore has a way of building unique characters with entire lives brought to the action.

This is a great story, has an interesting plot, and has very memorable characters.
